Founded in 2001, Rocket-Hire is a consultancy with roots in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology. We are based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Rocket-Hire offers its clients a variety of services, all of which leverage the fact that we are the premier source of expert, objective information about pre-employment testing, screening, and assessment products. We work closely with organizations across virtually every industry- from start-ups to Fortune 500s- to help them create value through the development, use, and evaluation of testing, screening, and assessment tools. We do not sell any assessment tools. Instead, we partner with our clients to help provide objective, vendor neutral guidance that ensures an optimal fit between their needs and the best tools and strategies available to meet these needs.
We have extensive experience in the development and validation of all manner of pre-employment testing, screening, and assessment tools. We partner with our clients to help ensure their hiring processes are both effective and legally compliant. We are vendor neutral and use a proven methodology to help ensure that our clients make smart choices when implementing testing, screening, and assessment tools.
A core part of our mission is to continually cultivate a deep knowledge of the marketplace for hiring tools. We have a strong network of clients and colleagues covering almost every area of the hiring process. We leverage nearly a decade of research and practice helping our clients by serving as unbiased analysts covering the pre-employment testing, screening, and assessment marketplace.
While our background lies in the development and application of sound science, we are also focused on driving innovation in the use of pre-employment testing, screening, and assessment tools within technology based hiring tools and practices. We understand technology and the impact it has had on hiring and pre-employment assessment. We blend our knowledge of best practices with our love of technology to help our clients explore new frontiers. Our founder, Charles Handler, PhD, has over a decade of experience providing thought leadership related to innovation in the online hiring process.

Charles Handler, Ph.D., is the president and founder of Rocket-Hire. Throughout his career he has specialized in developing effective, legally defensible employee selection systems. He has taken what he learned while developing recruitment and selection solutions for a wide variety of organizations and combined it with his love of technology to help clients develop new models for employee selection. His philosophy focuses on combining sound science with innovation and practicality to create online hiring strategies that provide ROI and demonstrate the value of human capital. Charles has a master's degree and a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology.
Mark C. Healy has been with Rocket-Hire since 2004. Mark assists companies with vendor selection and development of assessment tools and designs hiring, leadership development, and training programs. He also assists growing firms with the development and sales strategy of testing and assessment products. An active researcher and writer, Mark teaches statistics, research methods, and general psychology at De Anza College and Palo Alto University.
John R. Humphries, Jr., has developed his research and evaluation expertise over the course of more than 10 years of professional experience. After earning his Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, John gained a broad array of experience developing and implementing research methodologies ranging from door-to-door surveys to international online surveys. Applying statistical and qualitative research methodologies to achieve reliable results is one of John’s primary professional strengths. John is well versed in transforming proprietary governmental and private industry database information into readily comprehensible knowledge that facilitates accurate decision-making. He has conducted numerous program evaluations, market research projects, public opinion research projects, and evaluations of governmental performance.
